Togo: The HAAC warns Media professionals against slippages in the processing of information MEDIA

The Togolese High Authority for Audiovisual and Communication (HAAC), has observed for some time slippages in the processing of information. in a press release published, the HAAC encourages professionalism and warns men and women of the media against many discrepancies observed by the institution, which does not fit with the ethics and deontology of the press code.

in the note signed by the President of the HAAC, Pitalounani Telou, the institution calls on the Togolese media to be more professional and responsible, without citing the alleged facts.

“It has been given to the High Authority for Audiovisual and Communication (HAAC) to note that, for several weeks, certain written, audiovisual and online press organs continue to ignore the professional, deontological and ethical rules prescribed by the textslaws and regulations governing the exercise of the profession of journalist or host of talk shows or interactive programs”, can we read in the document.

This call to order from the Togolese regulatory institution aims to recall the duties of journalists and presenters, who must show restraint and ethics in the treatment of information. the media play a key role in Togo’s stability by promoting peace and living together.
