Togo: The International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism: National Assembly Moving towards Implementation
An international conference on the theme “Promoting the universalization and effective implementation of the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism” was held at the headquarters of the National Assembly. The event brought together parliamentarians, national and international personalities to discuss essential measures to combat nuclear terrorism and promote global security.
The opening ceremony, presided over by the President of the National Assembly, Madame Yawa Djigbodi Tsègan, marked the official beginning of this strategically important conference.
The President of the national representation emphasized the crucial importance of international cooperation in the fight against nuclear terrorism and called for concerted action to ensure the universalization of the Convention and its effective implementation.
The main objective of this meeting is to strengthen international cooperation in combating nuclear terrorism and encourage countries to ratify and effectively implement the International Convention.
Lively discussions and fruitful exchanges took place, highlighting the commitment of all participants to enhancing global security and preventing the proliferation of acts of nuclear terrorism.
Among the participants was Dr. Fatoumata Binta Diallo, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations System in Togo. Their participation in this conference reflects international commitment to nuclear security and the fight against terrorism.
