Togo: The government strengthens agricultural mechanization to ensure food self-sufficiency

The Togolese government, under the instruction of President Faure Gnassingbé, continues its efforts to modernize agriculture and ensure food self-sufficiency. A new milestone has been reached with the provision of tractors to agricultural entrepreneurs. During an official ceremony in Tsévié recently, several beneficiaries received the keys to these modern equipment.
This project is made possible through a partnership between the Ministry of Agriculture, Bank of Africa-Togo (BOA-Togo), and the Bonkoungou Group (BKG). The goal is to facilitate access to agricultural machinery through a leasing system, allowing farmers to repay gradually over five years. To start, ten companies specializing in agricultural services have received tractors to improve their productivity.
With this initiative, Togo reaffirms its commitment to mechanizing its agriculture to increase yields and reduce the physical strain on farmers. In addition to this equipment, the country is also developing regional mechanization centers to strengthen this momentum and ensure a sustainable food future for the population.
